Following extensive exchanges, the two sides reached a high degree of consensus across multiple key areas and successfully finalized a letter of intent for cooperation.Dr. Abbasi remarked that as an internationally leading enterprise specializing in eco-friendly new materials, Maenam Hi-Tech has achieved breakthrough reverse engineering in its self-developed water retaining agents. These agents can drastically improve sandy soil structures and deliver long-term technical support for desertification control. The performance indicators of its green ecological composite new materials and other products have hit world-class standards, finding wide applications in desert ecological restoration, photovoltaic sand control and major infrastructure projects. He specifically noted that Qatar’s high-temperature and arid climate imposes stringent requirements on the waterproof and water retention capabilities of materials. At present, Qatar’s overall market valuation for construction waterproof materials stands at approximately USD 200 million to 250 million, among which waterproof materials for industrial and construction use alone account for around USD 150 million, representing substantial market potential.
In addition, Chairman Abbasi elaborated on the long-standing friendly economic and trade ties between Qatar and Indonesia. In April 2025, Danantara, Indonesia’s newly established sovereign wealth fund, teamed up with Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) to launch a joint investment fund worth USD 4 billion, a landmark milestone for South-South cooperation.

The fund plans to prioritize investments in downstream mineral processing, healthcare, digital economy, infrastructure and new energy sectors, with the bulk of its capital allocated to renewable energy — a core factor determining whether the partnership can deliver genuine strategic and climate-related impact.Dr. Abbasi stressed that Maenam Hi-Tech’s self-developed waterproof and water-retentive new materials precisely match the core demands of infrastructure upgrading in both Qatar and Indonesia. Coupled with the strategic opportunity brought by Indonesia’s new round of infrastructure expansion and sovereign wealth fund backing, the materials are poised to support cross-market collaborative deployment spanning the Gulf Cooperation Council region to Southeast Asia.
Looking ahead, Maenam Hi-Tech will continue to leverage its strengths in technological R&D and product innovation to continuously optimize product performance and expand application scenarios. Both parties look forward to conducting in-depth cooperation in technology promotion and market expansion, jointly advancing the local application of waterproof and water-retentive new materials across the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and contributing Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions to global ecological governance and sustainable development.
