At the start of the exchange activity, the expert team conducted an on-site visit to Maenam High-Tech's factory. Here, the company's independently developed new green ecological composite materials became the focus of attention. With unique performance advantages, these new materials have demonstrated enormous application potential in key fields such as waterproofing and water retention: In the construction of large-scale dams: effectively resist water erosion and ensure the long-term stable operation of dams; In military infrastructure and nuclear industry construction: their outstanding waterproof performance provides solid protection for the safety of key facilities; In urban infrastructure and subway construction: help solve problems such as water leakage in underground projects and improve project quality;In dyke reinforcement and urban renewal projects: enhance structural stability and extend service life;In special engineering fields (e.g., coal chemical industry, natural gas chemical industry, petrochemical industry): play a crucial role in ensuring safe and reliable production processes; In the metallurgical industry: their high-temperature resistance and corrosion resistance are fully demonstrated;In emerging fields (e.g., desert planting, photovoltaic + desertification control, desert carbon sink): showcase unique innovative application value and remarkable results, providing new ideas and solutions for desert ecological governance and sustainable development.
Subsequently, the expert team visited Maenam High-Tech's desertification control test field. On this once barren land, Maenam High-Tech's hydrated water-retaining agent has played a key role. Like miniature "reservoirs," the water-retaining agent can quickly absorb and store a large amount of water, then slowly release it when crops need it, providing continuous moisture supply for crop growth. With the support of the water-retaining agent, the crops in the test field are thriving with vibrant greenery. This intuitive demonstration allowed the experts to deeply feel the powerful role of science and technology in desertification control, and also provided valuable practical experience for further exploring desert ecological restoration and sustainable agricultural development.
During the subsequent seminar, it was noted that Northwest A&F University, as a renowned institution of higher learning in fields such as agriculture, forestry, and soil and water conservation, has long been a core force in addressing major national strategic needs in agriculture and rural areas. The personal leadership of former president Sun Wuxue and the in-depth participation of many Changjiang Scholars and second-level professors in this activity fully reflect the university's high attention to the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and serving national strategies. The university boasts strong scientific research strength and abundant talent resources, and has made a series of important achievements in agricultural and forestry technological innovation, ecological environmental protection, and other aspects.
